Cá mhéad focal ar bháisteach atá againn?

Spreag plé ar daltaí mé le dul ag tochailt chun sár alt a d'fhoilsigh Lá i 2003 a aimsiú arís. Ghearr mé amach an uair úd é, agus anois tá sé scanta agus uaslódáilte agam.

Tá teacht air anseo:

Ah thaitin an -alt go mór mór liom! Go raibh míle maith agat! Bíonn iontas agam i gcónaí i bhfocail. Agus 'tréis é seo a léamh, ba mhaith liom an seanfhocal ag an deireadh a iompú bunoscionn agus a rá 'is fearr síorbháisteach ná sioc'.
:) Go raibh maith agat.

Is iontach an rud é nach bhfuil sainfhocal acu i nGaeilge na hAlban ar "rain". Tá "báisteach" agus "fearthainn" againn, mar a dúirt Seán, ach níl acu siúd ach "uisge"!

Tha an t-uisge ann. = Tá sé ag cur báistí.
